Ingredients

Scale

Eggs

  • 6 large eggs

Yolk Mixture

  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon sweet and spicy pepper jelly
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • Salt, to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Garnish (Optional)

  • Pinch of smoked paprika
  • Fresh chives or green onions, finely chopped
  • Additional pepper jelly

Instructions

  1. Boil the Eggs: Place the eggs in a saucepan and cover them with water. Bring the water to a boil over medium-high heat. Once boiling, cover the pan, remove it from the heat, and let the eggs sit for 10-12 minutes to cook through.
  2. Cool and Peel: Transfer the eggs to an ice bath immediately after cooking and let them cool for about 5 minutes. Peel the eggs carefully and slice each one in half lengthwise.
  3. Prepare the Yolk Mixture: Remove the yolks gently and place them in a bowl. Mash the yolks with a fork until they become smooth and crumb-free.
  4. Mix the Filling: Add mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, sweet and spicy pepper jelly, apple cider vinegar, salt, and black pepper to the mashed yolks. Stir the mixture thoroughly until it becomes creamy and well combined.
  5. Fill the Egg Whites: Spoon or pipe the yolk mixture back into the hollowed egg white halves evenly.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Optionally, add a small dollop of extra pepper jelly on each deviled egg, sprinkle a pinch of smoked paprika, and finish with freshly chopped chives or green onions for color and flavor enhancement. Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to serve.

Notes

  • Use fresh eggs for easier peeling after boiling.
  • The sweet and spicy pepper jelly adds a unique flavor, but you can adjust the amount or substitute with your favorite jelly or jam.
  • For a cleaner presentation, use a piping bag to fill the egg whites.
  • If you prefer a milder taste, omit the smoked paprika garnish.
  • These deviled eggs are best served chilled and can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
