Fudge Base
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ¼ tsp salt
Swirl
- 1 cup marshmallow fluff (or marshmallow cream)
- Melt the chocolate. In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine the semi-sweet chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, and melted butter. Stir constantly until the mixture is smooth and fully melted.
- Add the vanilla and salt. Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and salt until everything is well combined.
- Pour into the pan. Line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper. Pour the melted chocolate fudge mixture into the dish and spread it out evenly.
- Add the marshmallow swirl. Spoon the marshmallow fluff evenly over the fudge, then use a knife to gently drag through the marshmallow and fudge to create thick, visible swirls. Avoid overmixing to keep the swirls distinct.
- Chill and set. Refrigerate the fudge for at least 2 hours, or until it is firm and set completely.
- Cut and serve. Once the fudge is firm, lift it out using the parchment paper, cut into squares with a sharp knife, and enjoy your marshmallow swirl fudge!
Notes
- Use marshmallow fluff, not mini marshmallows, to maintain creamy, smooth swirls.
- Do not overmix the marshmallow swirl; this keeps the ribbons thick and visually appealing.
- Chill the fudge for at least 2 hours for clean cutting and perfect texture.
- For a s’mores twist, sprinkle crushed graham crackers on top before chilling.
- If desired, lightly torch the marshmallow top after swirling for a toasted marshmallow flavor.
- Dairy-free option: use dairy-free chocolate and coconut condensed milk.
- For extra chocolate richness, stir in ½ cup chopped dark chocolate before swirling.
- Add texture by mixing in crushed cookies or chopped nuts.
- For a graham cracker crust, press crushed graham crackers in the bottom of the pan before pouring the fudge mixture.
