5 from 725 reviews

These Greek Yogurt Brownies are a moist, rich, and healthier take on classic brownies, using Greek yogurt for added protein and moisture. They have a deep chocolate flavor enhanced by cocoa powder and melted chocolate, with optional chocolate chips for extra indulgence. Perfect as a guilt-free dessert or snack.

Ingredients

Scale

Wet Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup chopped chocolate
  • 1 cup vanilla Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cup sugar of choice (white, brown, sugar free, etc.)
  • 1/2 cup milk of choice (unsweetened almond milk recommended)

Dry Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour (gluten free if needed)
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

Optional Add-ins

  • 1 cup chocolate chips of choice

Instructions

  1. Preheat and prepare pan: Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper and set aside to ensure easy removal of the brownies after baking.
  2. Melt chocolate and combine wet ingredients: Place chopped chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl and melt it using the microwave. Let it sit for 1–2 minutes to cool slightly, then whisk in the vanilla Greek yogurt and sugar until smooth and creamy. Transfer this mixture to a large mixing bowl.
  3. Mix dry ingredients and combine: Add the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, and baking soda to the wet ingredients. Stir just until combined. Pour in the milk of your choice and mix well until the batter is fully incorporated. Fold in chocolate chips if you are using them.
  4. Bake the brownies: Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 25–30 minutes or until a skewer inserted into the center comes out mostly clean with a few moist crumbs.
  5. Cool and serve: Remove the brownies from the oven and let them cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Carefully lift the brownies out using the parchment paper and transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • You can use any sugar of choice—white, brown, or sugar-free options work well.
  • Vanilla Greek yogurt adds moisture and protein while keeping the brownies rich; plain Greek yogurt can be used with added vanilla extract.
  • Milk choice can be dairy or plant-based like almond milk for a dairy-free option.
  • Chocolate chips are optional but add extra chocolatey texture.
  • For gluten-free brownies, substitute all-purpose flour with a gluten-free flour blend.
