Chicken Mixture
- 1 1/2 lbs chicken (cooked and chopped, Rotisserie chicken works great too)
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
Butter & Garlic
- 8 tbsp butter (divided)
- 9 cloves garlic (minced, divided)
Sauces & Cheese
- 15 oz Alfredo sauce
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese (grated)
- 1 tbsp Parsley (chopped)
- 2 cups Mozzarella cheese (shredded)
Bread
- 1 loaf French bread (sliced horizontally)
- Prep the Bread: Preheat your oven to 400°F. Slice the French bread horizontally (you can use a fresh or frozen loaf). In a small bowl, whisk together 5 tablespoons of melted butter with garlic powder and chopped parsley. Brush this flavorful mixture generously over the cut sides of the bread. Place the bread in the oven and bake for 4–5 minutes until it turns lightly golden and fragrant.
- Heat Alfredo Sauce: While the bread is toasting, pour Alfredo sauce into a saucepan over medium heat. Add the remaining 3 tablespoons of butter, grated Parmesan cheese, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Stir the mixture continuously until the butter melts completely and the sauce becomes smooth and heated through.
- Assemble: Remove the toasted bread from the oven and spread half of the warmed Alfredo sauce evenly over one side. Layer the cooked chopped chicken on top, then sprinkle generously with shredded mozzarella and the remaining Parmesan cheese, ensuring good coverage for a cheesy finish.
- Bake: Return the assembled bread to the oven and bake for 8–10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly, melted, and lightly golden brown. Once done, take it out, slice into servings, and serve warm to enjoy the creamy, cheesy, garlicky goodness.
Notes
- Rotisserie chicken is a convenient shortcut that adds great flavor and saves time.
- If you prefer more garlic flavor, you can add extra minced garlic to the butter mixture or Alfredo sauce.
- You can substitute French bread with Italian bread or a rustic baguette if desired.
- Use freshly grated Parmesan and mozzarella for best melting and flavor results.
- For a spicier kick, sprinkle red pepper flakes on top before baking.
