Ingredients

Scale

Slider Assembly

  • 9 slider buns
  • 1 cup shredded cheese
  • ¼ tsp Italian seasoning
  • 2 Tbsp ranch dressing (for serving)

Chicken

  • 1 1/2 cups shredded chicken
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp ground black pepper
  • ½ tsp garlic powder (for chicken seasoning)
  • ¼ tsp paprika

Buffalo Sauce

  • 2 Tbsp butter, melted
  • ½ cup Frank’s buffalo hot sauce
  • ½ tsp garlic powder (for buffalo sauce)

Instructions

  1. Season and Bake Chicken: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Season 1.5 cups of shredded chicken with ½ tsp salt, ¼ tsp ground black pepper, ½ tsp garlic powder, and ¼ tsp paprika. Spread the chicken evenly on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Once done, shred the chicken further if needed.
  2. Prepare Buffalo Sauce: In a medium saucepan, melt 2 Tbsp butter over medium heat. Remove from heat, then whisk in ½ cup Frank’s buffalo hot sauce and ½ tsp garlic powder until smooth and well combined.
  3. Coat Chicken with Buffalo Sauce: Pour the prepared buffalo sauce over the warm shredded chicken and toss thoroughly until all the chicken pieces are evenly coated with the sauce.
  4. Assemble the Sliders: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Slice the 9 slider buns horizontally, keeping all the buns connected as one piece. Place the bottom portion of the buns into a 9×13 inch baking dish. Evenly layer 1 cup shredded cheese over the buns, then spread the buffalo chicken mixture evenly on top of the cheese. Place the top halves of the buns back on, then sprinkle ¼ tsp Italian seasoning over the tops.
  5. Bake the Sliders: Cover the baking dish loosely with aluminum foil and bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes. Then, remove the foil and continue baking for another 5-10 minutes, or until the tops of the buns turn golden brown and the cheese beneath is bubbly.
  6. Serve: Remove the sliders from the oven and serve immediately with 2 Tbsp ranch dressing on the side for dipping or drizzling over the sliders.

Notes

  • You can prepare the chicken in advance and store it in the refrigerator to save time on the day you make the sliders.
  • Substitute store-bought rotisserie chicken to skip the baking step if desired, but seasoning and baking adds more flavor.
  • Adjust the amount of buffalo sauce to your heat preference.
  • These sliders are best served warm but can be reheated covered with foil to avoid drying out.
  • For a milder version, add extra ranch dressing inside the sliders.
